It's so quiet and peaceful there with all the wildlife; we saw a doe and her fawn for a few days and a wild hen turkey with her 3 babies. The Fernie Ski Area in British Columbia, Canada is only 2 hours away by car. Or you may cross country ski or snowshoe right out our front door. GOLF MAGAZINE ranks Northern Pines Golf Course 2nd in the state of Montana and it is less than 5 minutes from the door of our cabin! There are plenty of other wonderful courses around The Flathead: Buffalo Hills, Cabinet View,Eagle Bend, Glacier View, Meadow Lake, Mission Mountain, Par 3 on 93, Polson Country Club, Village Greens,and Whitefish Lake. There are seven championship courses within 45 minutes of the house and in summer the Northern Lights allow play until 10:00 P.M. "Whitefish’s Great Northern Brewing Company boasts its own microbrewery, complete with public tasting room. It offers Black Star lager and specialty brews such as Big fog, Black Lager, and Huckleberry Wheat Lager.
